Try your hand at making a woodcut print using traditional Japanese methods, ink and paper.
Jeannie McCarthy, the tutor, will guide you gently through the process of transferring your drawing to the wood block, help you to decide on how best to render your image, how to safely and effectively carve away the areas that will not print and then, once you are happy with your image, to prepare the traditional Japanese ink and print using a bamboo burran and thin paper. Image examples will be available, or you may use your own.
Jeannie will advise you on where you can buy equipment and materials, should you wish to continue this technique at home.
Optional Christmas themes available.
