From Sketchbook to Print
In this loose and informal workshop we will choose an item from your sketchbook (or other own work), to develop into a print. We will work the same image through at least two different print processes, giving you an opportunity to compare and contrast these processes and further develop your own work as you do so.
The session is aimed at creatives, either professional or the enthusiast/hobbyist who may not have had much experience with printmaking processes. You should come to the session with a sketchbook or a few examples of your own preliminary or finished work – from which I will help you identify an image to take forward into print and support you in the process of doing this. The class will be small in size and you will get a lot of individual support, and learn or re-cap on two printmaking processes.
During this initial session we will look at both collotype and lino print techniques, and discuss the possibility of further sessions around this concept and different printing techniques. It should be a generally fun and creative session focused on exploration and creativity rather than the completion of perfect print editions, so don’t worry if you don’t consider yourself an expert artist – you only need a few images or previous work to make the most of the session.
