Collagraphy is the art of making prints from cardboard. Thin and flexible found materials and various types of paper & card can be used to collage a surface to achieve both figurative or abstract effects.
In this one day course, we will further extend and develop from work you’ve completed in the beginners course, or create and print an entirely new print from imagery you have sourced. You will decide to print using either intaglio or relief methods, and construct your plate accordingly, choosing materials and textures that are best suited to that method of printing. If there is time we will experiment with colour and different ways of inking the plates, to produce a variety of interesting results. You will leave with a short run of prints and have extended and deepened your knowledge of collagraphy as a printing technique.
The tutor, Natalie is an experienced printmaker, artist and illustrator with extensive experience in using carboard and found materials to make printed images.
Cost for the day is £75/£60 inclusive of all materials.
